BURLINGTON, Mass. – 12/01/2010 – iBasis, a KPN company, today announced the appointment of Willem Offerhaus to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Effective January 1, 2011 Offerhaus will replace John van Vianen, who will become Managing Director of KPNs Business Market segment, a leading provider of communications services to business in the Netherlands with 2.5 billion in revenue in 2009. Van Vianen joined iBasis in December 2009 as interim Chief Executive Officer and a member of the iBasis Board of Directors following the completion of KPNs acquisition of iBasis. Under van Vianens leadership, iBasis has achieved a dramatic turnaround in 2010 with revenue growth of 24 percent in the first nine months of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009. Van Vianen will continue as a member of the iBasis board and will succeed Eelco Blok as chairman of the iBasis board as of April 1, 2011.
Willem Offerhaus brings more than 20 years of management and sales experience in ICT and business-to-business markets. Since 2008 he has been Vice President of Sales for KPN subsidiary Getronics, a leading provider of ICT solutions, where he was responsible for KPNs corporate market. Prior to joining KPN in 2008, Willem worked in Paris for Orange Business Services/FT as Senior Vice President, Global Sales. Orange Business Services is active in more than 180 countries. Previously, Willem was Managing Director of Equant Netherlands, where he led the merger of Equant and Global One in the Netherlands.

Prior to joining iBasis, van Vianen was Managing Director of Information & Communication Solutions (ICS) at KPN/Getronics and a member of the KPN/Getronics Executive Committee. He has held several executive management positions at KPN, including leading the KPN business unit that provides Data & IP Solutions to the national and international business markets, Senior Vice President of KPN ICT Services, and senior management positions within KPN/Qwest, including vice president of mergers and acquisitions. Van Vianen also represents KPN on the supervisory board of several ventures.
