Companies Expand on Existing International Voice Outsourcing Relationship, Leverage iBasis Global SS7/C7 Footprint to Reach More than 625 Mobile Networks
BURLINGTON, Mass. and COPENHAGEN, Denmark – 03/08/2010 – iBasis, a KPN company, and TDC, the leading telecommunications company in Denmark, today announced a long-term agreement through which iBasis will provide value-added mobile data services including global SS7/C7 signaling and ITU/ANSI conversion.
Through its Mobile Matrix portfolio of value-added mobile data services, iBasis has become a leading provider of roaming signaling services. The company’s global reach of more than 625 mobile network operators (MNOs) around the world provides iBasis’ roaming signaling customers with almost instant worldwide coverage from a single connection. The iBasis signaling network also features double redundancy, resulting in 100 percent reliability. Continuing its leadership in IP services, iBasis supports connectivity to the service via SIGTRAN and provides state-of-the-art monitoring tools for all of its roaming signaling customers.
“We are very happy to be partnering with iBasis for signaling and conversion services,” said Ole Hvelplund, Vice President of TDC.. “iBasis’ services deliver the reliability and coverage we need in a very cost-efficient and timely manner and will be instrumental in helping us to enhance the services we provide customers and thereby grow our business.”
The mobile data services agreement builds upon a strategic relationship already in place between iBasis and TDC. In 2008, the companies established an outsourcing agreement through which iBasis carries all of TDC’s non-Nordic international voice traffic.
“We enjoy a very strong and mutually beneficial relationship with TDC on the voice side, and we’re very pleased to be expanding it with mobile data services,” said John van Vianen, CEO of iBasis. “We believe we are more than a supplier, we are a partner, and as such we are very motivated to help TDC leverage our capabilities to the fullest to enable their success.”
