Feddo HazewindusCEO and member of the iBasis Board of Directors
Feddo Hazewindus brings to iBasis a wealth of relevant entrepreneurial and leadership experience in wholesale telecommunications, cyber security and business intelligence. He started and managed KPN INS, Inc., KPN’s wholesale telecom entity based in New York, and was instrumental in the 2007 transaction between iBasis and KPN that ultimately lead to iBasis becoming a KPN company. Since joining KPN in 1991, Feddo has also led a start-up company in multi-media and successfully directed several complex, strategic programs that spanned the entire KPN Group.
Jörg de GraafChief Financial Officer
Jörg de Graaf is responsible for helping to shape and drive the company’s business strategy and overseeing the financial management of the company. Before joining iBasis, Jörg was interim CFO at KPN Corporate Market, where he directed the transition of the former KPN subsidiary Getronics into the Corporate Market business and subsequently the creation of KPN’s IT Solutions division. During his nearly 10 years with KPN, Jörg has held financial leadership positions of increasing responsibility and scope, and gained valuable experience in the mobile, IT and wholesale business in addition to leading corporate restructurings. Jörg holds a degree in international management from Maastricht University and a degree in Marketing from TIASNimbas Business School.
Ajay JosephChief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Ajay Joseph is responsible for the technical strategy and engineering of the iBasis global network and underlying systems. His leadership over more than a decade has been instrumental in iBasis’ growth from a start-up to one of the largest international carriers in the world. Ajay is also responsible for driving innovation within iBasis and is a member of parent-company KPN’s innovation council. In this capacity, Ajay and his team focus on leveraging the company’s unsurpassed expertise in IP technologies and real-time communications to develop new solutions and services for fixed and mobile operators, and other service providers. Prior to joining iBasis, Ajay was manager and architect of the IP Telecom division at GTE Internetworking responsible for new VoIP-based services. He also held senior level engineering and design positions at DeskNet Systems and NYNEX Science & Technology. Ajay is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School. He holds Professional Engineering and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University.
Brad GuthSenior Vice President, Operations
Brad Guth leads the operational activities for the iBasis international voice and mobile data services businesses. He oversees a global team responsible for ensuring an excellent customer experience while extending iBasis capabilities to support innovation within an evolving service portfolio. A versatile leader, since 2001 Brad has helped iBasis grow while taking on a wide range of strategic, commercial and operational roles. His teams have harnessed analytics and algorithms to strengthen financial operations, optimize pricing, and enhance service monitoring. Prior to joining iBasis, Brad was a strategy consultant for several years, where he assisted clients in crafting growth strategies and pursuing business relationships and financial transactions in the communications and energy businesses. He was most recently a Principal with Oliver Wyman (formerly Mercer Management Consulting), and also held roles with Gemini Consulting and Strategic Compensation Associates. He was also a Vice President with Houston Street Exchange, an electronic wholesale energy marketplace. Brad holds a degree in economics from Harvard College and an MBA in Financial Management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Ellen SchmidtVice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Ellen W. Schmidt manages the legal affairs of iBasis and provides counsel on a wide range of issues including corporate governance and regulatory compliance. Ellen, who joined iBasis in 2007, brings more than 20 years of legal experience in the communications and information technology industry as a practitioner, in-house counsel and regulator. Before joining iBasis, she was Senior Business Attorney for AT&T where she was responsible for managing AT&T’s interconnection policy and contract negotiations, as well as various regulatory and compliance matters. Prior to joining AT&T, Ellen was the chief New England counsel for the cable company, MediaOne, where she was responsible for all legal aspects associated with the region’s telephony and internet service products. Ellen has authored numerous articles on telecommunications law and has been a presenter and faculty member at various communications seminars. She represents iBasis as a Board Member and as Secretary of the VON Coalition, an industry group focused on advocating US regulatory policies that promote the development and growth of IP-enabled services and applications. Her professional organizations include the American Corporate Counsel Association and the Federal Communications Bar Association. Ellen received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and holds a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
Tamah Solomon RoskerVice President, Global Human Resources
Tamah Rosker develops and implements human resource policies and programs for iBasis, emphasizing strong employee communications and motivation as well as creative approaches to human resource development. Tamah brings to iBasis 20 years of experience working with high technology companies to develop human resource programs and address employment issues. Previously, Tamah served as Vice President Human Resources for the speech and language technology company Dragon Systems, Inc. and for Kendall Square Research, Inc. As a practicing labor and employment attorney for several years, she authored employment law articles and is a member of several professional organizations. Tamah holds a BS degree from Tufts University (magna cum laude) and a law degree from Boston College Law School where she wrote for the Uniform Commercial Code Journal.
