Since the start of iBasis, 20 years ago, the company invested significantly in IP, VoIP and interoperability. And since the launch of IPX, iBasis also invested a considerable amount of its time and resources in successfully implementing IPX. This resulted in becoming one of the first carriers to establish an IPX interconnect as well as being the first carrier to implement international HD voice calling and VoLTE calling over IPX between two different Mobile Operators. Additionally, iBasis’ Open Peering Policy led to the largest number of IPX peering partners and the most complete reach for LTE Roaming. All these efforts brought iBasis to where they are today: one of the leading wholesale carriers in the world.

Also since 20 years, Total Telecom’s Carriers World has been an important industry event for wholesale carriers and operators to interact, discuss and explore (collaboration within) the wholesale market.
It was at the 20th anniversary of Carriers World 2017 that iBasis’ effort in IPX was explicitly renowned, with the award for the Best IPX Service Provider 2017. This is a truly exceptional recognition as this event is the only in its kind where award winners are determined by the votes of the industry.

iBasis’ multiservice IPX provides fixed and mobile operators and new communications service providers a technical and commercial platform to exchange IP-based voice (HD Voice, VoLTE), data services (GRX, IoT), signaling (LTE signaling), analytics (InVision) and roaming capabilities (LBO, S8HR). Throughout 2017, iBasis has been actively invested in designing and implementing the next generation IPX network with features that support the growing and emerging demands from the global IoT market.
