At iBASIS, expanding our global network is all about staying closer to where our customers need us most. That’s why we’re excited to share the launch of our newest IPX Point of Presence (PoP) in Seattle USA, a key milestone in our ongoing network expansion journey.
Why Seattle?
Seattle isn’t just another pin on the map, it’s a strategic gateway. As our first PoP on the U.S. West Coast, it puts us right at the heart of transpacific connectivity. The city plays a critical role in global telecom infrastructure, acting as a major landing point for subsea cables and a hub for international traffic exchange between North America and Asia Pacific.
This strengthened presence comes at a critical time, as major global events like the ongoing FIFA World Cup are expected to drive a surge in international travel and roaming demand across North America—making resilient, well-distributed connectivity more essential than ever.
With this new PoP, we complete our presence in four major U.S. connectivity hubs, Ashburn, Dallas, Miami and now Seattle, with the objective to serve customers with greater reach and flexibility across the Americas.
