Lexington, MAiBASIS, the leading provider of communications solutions for operators and digital players worldwide, won Best Anti-Fraud Innovation and Best IoT Initiative at the 19th edition of the Global Carrier Awards (GCAs).

In addition, parent company Tofane Global took home the award for Best Strategic Acquisition for the acquisition of DIMOCO Messaging, a leading global SMS aggregator, and subsequent integration into iBASIS.

With 35 categories, the Global Carrier Awards is the most prestigious program in wholesale telecoms and connectivity. A panel of 31 judges recognizes the best and most innovative players by region, specialty, and industry sector. Head judge Carl Roberts expressed gratitude for the record-breaking 324 submissions received, extending congratulations to the winners and recognizing the industry for its collective achievements.

Best Anti-Fraud Innovation

iBASIS was recognized for its Revenue at Risk Model, which enables global operators to continuously identify, measure, and address specific exposures to risk with over 70 monitored and tracked vulnerability control points. Integrated into iBASIS anti-fraud systems and technologies, the Revenue at Risk Model demonstrated its efficacy in several use cases and fraud domains such as SIM boxing, bypass fraud, data collection, and billing accuracy.

Best IoT Initiative

iBASIS is demonstrating the feasibility and explosive potential of iSIM by becoming the first to provide proven IoT connectivity on iSIM across its Global Access for Things™ industry-leading coverage. The iSIM Evolution initiative has not only propelled the implementation of iSIM from concept to real-world implementation through industry-first successful deployments, but is now also powering all players in the IoT space to develop and gain the advantage to “be first” with new integrated SIM offerings for the coming years.

Best Strategic Acquisition

Tofane Global’s acquisition of DIMOCO Messaging follows the impressive acquisition of six other businesses over the past five years: iBASIS, Altice Europe N.V., SFR, MEO (former Portugal Telecom), NOS, and Simfony. With its most recent acquisition and integration, Tofane Global’s subsidiary iBASIS significantly accelerated its growth and doubled mobile services revenues to reach 20% of the company’s total revenues.
